  2. File_Reader, (and Blind Freddie)

  4. Part of a family of programmer's tools.
  5. This is a 'Drag and Drop' Application that reads the text, using Macintalk, of any file dropped onto it.

  7. Why ?
  8.  
  9. It may be useful.
  10.  
  11. • For System 7.0+ (can be used with other system versions, see below.).
  12.  
  13. • File_Reader reads the text of the target file and shows it in a window. This application was written using the standard Units that come with Turbo Pascal. If it crashes, please let me know.

  15. How to use it, step by step.
  16.  
  17.        To use File_Reader:
  18.                 • Drag your file onto the File_Reader icon. Your file will be 
  19.                         read and the text listed.
  20.                 • The application will not allow to much to go on
  21.                         in the background.
  22.                 • hold the mouse button down to quit…
  23.  
  24.             To use File_Reader on system 6:
  25.                 • Shift-Select both File_Reader and the target file. 
  26.                 • Double- click on either Icon.
  27.                 • Your file will be read and it's text listed.
  28.  
  29.                 •• or you can double click on the File_Reader Icon and use the 
  30.                 standard file dialog box.

  32.             Blind Freddie works in the same manner as File_Reader,
  33.                 BUT it does not display any window.
  34.  
  35. Blind Freddie Init is a background application that sings a silly song at start-up, if Macintalk is present, ( Macintalk Vers. 2 seems to work with System 7 +)
